Founded in 1979, Wake Enterprises provides vocational opportunities
for adults with developmental disabilities, and became the first agency
in North Carolina offering supported employment in 1982.
We operate two supervised worksites across Wake County. At these
locations, adults with developmental disabilities are provided individualized
vocational training that allows them to live productive and independent
lives. By learning how to stay on task, appropriately interact with
peers, and the rewards of earning a paycheck, our consumers are enabled
to take care of themselves. Once these skills are mastered, we then
provide our consumers with an Employment Specialist who assists him/her
in attaining and maintaining community employment.
In addition to being a human service agency, Wake Enterprises is also
a business dedicated to providing quality subcontracting, outsourcing,
and fulfillment services at a fair price. Our consumers have
received job training in areas such as electronic subassembly, corrugated
box and insert assembly, shrink-wrapping, and more. By contracting
with Wake Enterprises, companies have access to a dependable workforce
that provides quality work on time and can avoid wasting payroll dollars
by utilizing the business services we provide.
